About Cary Gallery of Artists

The Cary Gallery of Artists is a cooperative operated by local artists. We feature contemporary and traditional fine art and craft, with more than 300 artworks exhibited by 20+ artists from around the Triangle. An artist is on duty, so stop by during regular business hours. Displays change monthly, just before our "Final Friday' evening reception, so there is always new work to enjoy when you visit.

Since our founding in 2005, Cary Gallery has offered affordable, high-quality original artwork. Our wide array of pieces includes jewelry, ceramics, paintings, wood, glass, and much more. Many of the artists who call our gallery "home" are well known—teaching, exhibiting, winning awards, and appearing frequently in the press.

A great time to visit is during Cary's Final Friday Art Loop. The last Friday of each month we are open until 8 pm to feature special showings by member artists. Join the fun at these celebrations—we always offer great conversation and goodies, and occasionally live music. Come out and meet the artists, and bring your friends and family!

Chip Freund became a member of the Cary Gallery of Artists in September, 2021. The prints shown below are currently on display and available for purchase through the gallery. It is an honor to be included among so many talented artists. I encourage everyone in the Triangle to spend a day in downtown Cary. Take a break and explore the wonderful shops, galleries, and museums in this charming town. Once you’ve had your fill of shopping, art, and history, take a load off and tip a pint at one of the local brew pubs, or grab a bite at one of Cary’s fabulous eateries.

Cary Photographic Artists 3rd Annual Open Juried Exhibition
Exhibition opens May 7, 2023

Virtual Online Exhibition

Cary Photographic Artists, founded in 2007 by Bobbi Hopp, is the Triangle’s only group whose mission it is to develop and enhance the practice of photographic art. As an artist/photographer, she was aware that photography wasn’t being accepted on equal footing with paintings and other visual art forms. Bobbi created the Cary Photographic Artist Annual Open Juried Show, inviting members from the Triangle and surrounds to submit their best images for an exhibition. The club has continued this tradition and we are proud to display the invited images below from 2017 - 2021.

This is my first year in the CPA exhibition and I am honored to be included among so many exceptionally gifted photographic artists. My work selected by the jury is Lake Mattamuskeet Trees. To learn more about the making of this unique photograph, check out the Image Story.

The Museum of Life and Science in Durham as a part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ (AZA) bold campaign to protect 30% of Earth’s land, waters, and oceans by 2030, challenged area artists to harness art’s power to inform, educate and inspire by submitting works to 30×30: Art, Nature, and Science Exhibition. Entries in this juried exhibit convey a love of and concern for the natural world and inspire advocacy for protecting land, air, water, and our rich biodiversity.  The exhibition runs from Saturday, March 25, 2023, through Sunday, July 16, 2023.

I am honored to have my first work Vanishing Ice included in this exhibition. It is the first print from my Blue Glacier Then & Now project.

VAE Mutual Aid Art Auction
Mar 6 - 24, 2021

This is a Virtual Event: View and Bid on Artwork Online

The Visual Arts Exchange of Raleigh (VAE) has transitioned its 41st Anniversary Gala into the first-ever Mutual Aid Art Auction where artists receive 100% of the proceeds from the sale of their work!

More than 130 artists have made 200+ works of art available for your bidding pleasure! VAE hopes to use the success of our largest annual party as a platform to help our artists when they need it most, after a full year with no income. We encourage our art-loving community to think of this as your opportunity to directly support the artists who make our communities vibrant, and get beautiful new art in exchange.

CFP is proud to have two works included in this show, Fading Summer 2 and Mirror in the Mist. I have elected to split the proceeds from the sale of both works with VAE

Dare County Art Council Gallery - Frank Stick Memorial Art Show
Jan 30 - Feb 27, 2021

300 Queen Elizabeth Ave.
Manteo, NC 27954

CFP is honored to be included in The 43rd Annual Frank Stick Memorial Art Show now open at the Dare County Art Council Gallery.

About The Frank Stick Memorial Art Show

The annual show is held in memory of Outer Banks preservationist and artist Frank Stick, who was instrumental in having miles of the Cape Hatteras Seashore designated as the first National Seashore.

The work included in the show is, “Corolla Sunset”. It captures one of the Outer Banks’ stunning sunsets over Currituck Sound. This little cove along highway 12 in Corolla, NC drew me in as I drove by it. My interest and patience waiting for the sun to set and light to come paid off. This limited edition print is presented in the show in a 16” x 16” black wood frame and is available for $200.00.
